I did not intend on writing this series of
articles. As the news surrounding MOVEit kept evolving, so did the
story. The number of
US based victims is now 295, as of July 23, 2023.
And these are not no name tech firms that no one has ever heard of. Many
of the MOVEit victims are household names recognizable to most anyone.
Been to a Rite-Aid pharmacy, lately?
This should all be
of some importance to most people. Any day, any Consumer could
receive a letter advising the Consumer that, as a victim of the data
breach at ZYX, Corp, "You are entitled to Compensation. Join the
Class Action Lawsuit named herein." Or, you may get a
letter from XYZ, Corp. telling you how sorry they are that all your
personal data in the possession of XYZ, Corp. is now in the hands of
Russian cybercrooks. But here is one free year of credit
monitoring. Thanks for playing along at home.
