Having Fun With Fonts, Pt.3
Confusions Say So, you are writing that Holiday Greeting Letter, and you decide that you need that one special font to put the right touch your festive tome. But you need samples of fonts before you decide — lots of samples. You need Control Panel. In Control Panel, there is a feature that will show you all your fonts. Surprisingly, the mini app is called Fonts. Step 1: Open Control Panel a. Click into the Search box on the Taskbar. b. Type Control into the Search Box c. Click the Control Panel icon to open Control Panel. Control Panel usually opens in Category mode. That's helpful if you already know the Categories. Most of us don't, however. So we need to adjust the view to Large Icons. Step Two: Switch to Large Icons mode. a. Click the View by: button. b. Click Large Icons. Now you will see all the Control applets together.
Step Three: Find on Click the Fonts app. When the Fonts applet open you will see a complete list of all the Fonts installed on your computer. It can be a very long list. Many different applications install their own fonts. A visual sample of each font and that font's name are shown.
Step 4: Click a sample to see the complete character list for that font. a. Below is a sample of the Old English font.
So, now you can make that Holiday Greeting Letter the Out of the Park Homerun that you know it can be. You can thank me later. |
