Introducing the New and Improved Microsoft Photos App

If you have Windows 11, or the most current version of Windows 10, then sometime in the last few weeks, Microsoft gave you the new and much more feature rich Photos App.  For most weekend shutterbugs, this Photo App has almost all the features of most other photo apps.  The MS Photo App is free to you, however.  And it is not supported by spyware and adware and other crapware that those other "free" photo apps come with.  If you do not have this most recent version installed, you can install it from the Microsoft store.

When you first view an image file, click the edit button and the crop handles appear.   At the bottom, is the zoom control.  In the top right, is a Save A Copy Button.  Always best to work from a copy of your image file rather than that precious and priceless original.  Because you know and I know that you are the next Edward Weston, and those originals will be worth something someday.

If you click the Photo Edit Button, you will be offered a very rich menu of visual enhancement tools.  You can adjust exposure, color balance, and add effects.  The list is quite extensive.

You can also toggle between regular menu and full screen view to better observe your beautiful handiwork achieved by adding the enhancements.

A complete set of enhancements are available to add to your already considerable artistic flair.

All in all, I think this new and vastly improved Windows Photo App is the exception that proves the rule that says you can't get something of real value for nothing.  Click the next post button to a few special features the Photos app offers.
