Put Your Paws on Your Mouse and
Put the Pause on Windows Update Paused.

As I go around from user machine to user machine, sometimes folks have Windows Updates placed on a 1 week pause.  Why?  I dunno.  This will delay important updates from being immediately installed.  It is my strongly held belief that the installation of any and all updates should be done as soon as humanly possible.

So, if you go to Settings → Windows Update, and see the image above, simply hit the Blue Button that says Resume Updates.  That will cause Windows Update to run.  Don't be surprised if there are several updates ready to install.

Afterward, Windows Updates will be reset to run silently in the background.  And look like below.

Where, oh where is pretty little Susie?
Where, oh where is pretty little Susie?
Way down yonder in the paw-paw patch.
Pickin' up paw-paws, puttin' 'em in her pockets,
Way down yonder in the paw-paw patch.
Traditional Folk Song

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
