Go Update Office Yourself;
And Get All of This Week's New Features

Last year, I posted CheatSheets on How to Update Windows.  I then followed that article with another CheatSheets on How to Update Google Chrome and Adobe Reader.  These CheatSheets are consistently among the most frequently requested pages of the Dispatches, according to the Web Stats.  So, as a follow up, and because Microsoft released major updates to Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) the week of February 27, 2023, I offer How to Update Office Manually.  All users of Office of any flavor should do this as soon as possible.

Step 1: Open Office Application. I chose Word.  From the Menu on the left, scroll down and click Account.

When you come to the Account page, click the Update Options button.  And then click Update Now.
While at the Account page, underneath the Censored Box is the user's Office Account information.  Sometimes that account info is different than the Microsoft Account information.  It is a good idea before you leave the Account Page to verify your Account info is correct.

The current update is a major update.  The update can take about 15 minutes or more to install.  That can seem like a month if you just sit and stare.  Microsoft says you can continue working.  I think, however, it would be a good time for lunch or coffee or whatever.  But walk away from the computer.  When you return, you will see this screen below.  And both you and your computer will be happy. Simply close the application.

Updating is kind of my religion.

To put off your old self,
which belongs to your former manner of life
and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God
in true righteousness and holiness
Ephesians 4:22-24
