The Word of the Day Is Provenance
An Important Thing to Know About Browser Extensions

A given attribute of Human Intelligence is Having Knowledge.  That is the paradigm from which The Dispatches From the Front emerged.

One rule I live by both online and in life is thus:  The most expensive thing in computing (and life) is anything marked: "Free!

My maxim is of particular pertinence whenever the peroration pertains to a proposed browser extension program.  I am preternaturally predisposed to paranoia whenever prompted to procure a browser extension.  Most browser extensions usually do not perform as so postulated.  In my opinion, it is a peculiarity of most browser extensions that they cause more problems than they solve.  So there is a parley of points — both pro and con — between people who proselytize browser extension production and adoption, and those who poo-poo such preposterous positions.

And then there is the Microsoft Editor AI powered Spelling and Grammar checker browser extension.  As they say, "It is the exception that proves the rule."  Below are the pluses of adopting The Microsoft Editor Browser Extension..
Its provenance is well known.  The Editor comes from the most puissant of our program producers, Microsoft.  There is no hidden malware included to support problematical promotional advertising.
The program performs as postulated.  Moreover, once installed, spell check is available for any text based web app.
Causes no discernable problems post-installation.

So herein are my pedagogics on The Microsoft Editor browser extension for Google Chrome, so you, too, may proceed and become proficient in its practices and procedures.

If you write using Microsoft Word or Outlook, then you have used The Editor — unless you have disabled the function.  On June 4, 2023,  I posted an article about how The Editor works in MS Word.  The browser plug-in version works much the same way for spell and grammar checking.  So please review that previous post to get a better idea of the functions of The Editor.  This discussion herein assumes that the Reader has never installed a browser plug-in.  My focus is for installation in Google Chrome.

To get The Editor extension you must first go to the Google Play Store.  On the Google Home page is a "Button" icon.  The Button icon opens the Google App Menu.  Click "Play" from the list of available apps.

So that's the windup.  Now here's the pitch.

When Google Play Store opens, search for Microsoft The Editor.  Click on what you see at below.

When you see the Installation Screen, click "Add to Chrome."
Click Add extension.
The Editor Extension is installing.
The Editor Extension is installed when you see this screen.

To verify the installation is complete, open the Chrome Settings menu by first clicking the "3 Dot Control."
Scroll down to ExtensionsMouse over Extensions.  Click on Manage Extensions.

The Editor is now added to my very short list of browser extensions.

Once installed and enabled, not only for web based email, but spell check will also be available
for any web based textual application, like Twitter, or X, or whatever it's called this week.

This is more than an app.  The Editor Browser Extension from Microsoft is to me a Blessing.
Give it a spin!
There's a Whole Lot of Alliterations Going On!
